Blueberries can only be stored at room temperature for about a week, and over time, their taste and nutritional value will greatly decrease. Therefore, blueberries can be placed in a cold storage for refrigeration, creating a layer of small ice crystals on their surface to ensure that their own cellular tissues are not damaged, while also facilitating transportation, sales, storage, and other aspects of blueberries.
The cold storage characteristics of blueberries: relative humidity: 83%, freezing point: -1.1 ℃, optimal storage temperature: -0.6~0 ℃, storage period: 3-5 days.
Construction requirements for blueberry cold storage
1. The storage site should be located in an area with convenient transportation, and construction near hospitals and crematoriums should be avoided as much as possible;
2. Cold storage requires a large amount of water and power sources, and all surrounding areas need to ensure reliable water and emergency power sources;
3. Good ventilation facilities should be ensured while meeting the production process requirements.
4. The units, temperature control system, cooling system, evaporator, storage location, refrigeration compressor, air cooler, expansion valve, and solenoid valve of the cold storage can be modified according to customer opinions and actual situations to meet customer needs to the greatest extent possible.
Blueberry Cold Storage Design and Installation Process
1. Customer service personnel receive customer inquiries, understand their cold storage needs, and then convey them to the designer;
2. The designer listens to customer feedback, analyzes customer needs, and submits a preliminary proposal;
3. If the customer reviews the design proposal and it is approved, the construction and installation of the cold storage will begin. Otherwise, the design proposal will continue until it is approved;
If the cold storage construction is completed and everything is normal, it will be handed over to the customer for acceptance. If the customer's acceptance is successful, the surface project construction will be completed.
Storage methods of blueberries in cold storage
Due to the storage temperature of blueberries being below 10 ℃, and the temperature of freshly picked blueberries often exceeding 10 ℃, pre cooling treatment is often required first;
2. Blueberry pre cooling usually uses vacuum pre cooling and cold air pre cooling, but cold water rinsing is often not recommended as it can damage the surface tissue of the fruit and cause blueberry rot; Vacuum pre cooling is a simple and fast method of pre cooling blueberries by evaporating water from their surface; Cold air pre cooling, on the other hand, is achieved by using a cold air fan to blow and cool down. Although this method is relatively complex, pre cooling is thorough;
3. Finally, it is stored in a cold storage for refrigeration, and the freezing temperature is best controlled at around 0 ℃.
