1. Overview
The CL9203D industrial online residual chlorine meter (hereinafter referred to as the instrument) is a water quality online monitoring instrument with a microprocessor. Applied to continuous monitoring and control of residual chlorine content in drinking water treatment plants, drinking water distribution networks, swimming pools, industrial wastewater, and cooling circulating water.
The instrument adopts LCD liquid crystal display screen; Intelligent Chinese menu operation; It has optional current or voltage output, freely adjustable measurement range, high and low limit alarm prompts, and two sets of relay control switches, with adjustable hysteresis range; Automatic or manual temperature compensation; Automatic or manual pH compensation; Multiple automatic calibration methods for electrodes; RS485//RS232 communication and computer connection.
According to user needs, sensors with residual chlorine electrodes can be installed in various forms such as flow type, sinking type, and pipeline type.
II. Structural Features and Working Principles
1Structural features:
The entire measurement system mainly consists of three parts: CL9203D instrument (secondary instrument), sensor residual chlorine electrode (primary meter), or pH sensor electrode. The residual chlorine electrode and pH electrode are in contact with the measured aqueous solution, and the instrument displays the residual chlorine value, pH value, temperature value, and working status of the aqueous solution.
2Working principle:
The instrument consists of signal measurement, operation, display, network communication, and panel instructions. The residual chlorine electrode contains a temperature electrode, and the pH electrode amplifies the sampled signal into a low resistance voltage signal through an instrument amplifier, which is then used for calculation and display of the measured value.
The residual chlorine electrode uses gold (Pu) as the cathode and silver (Ag) as the anode, with a filling solution of 0.1M potassium chloride (KCl) as the electrolyte. A permeable membrane with selective hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is used, which allows only hypochlorous acid molecules to freely penetrate, while both hypochlorite ions (ClO -) and chlorine cannot penetrate. When measuring, a polarization voltage is applied between the anode and cathode, and HOCl molecules are consumed at the cathode through a permeable membrane, forming a current proportional to the concentration of hypochlorous acid flowing through the electrode. The instrument detects this current and converts it into the concentration of hypochlorous acid through calculation. At the same time, the pH and temperature electrodes detect the pH value and temperature of the solution. The instrument calculates the residual chlorine content in the water based on the detected pH and temperature.
