Product Details
Porosity, pore size, and pore volume are important foundations for characterizing porous materials. The mercury intrusion method is the most widely used method for determining the pore size distribution of large pores in solids. This technology is based on the correspondence between mercury as a non wetting liquid being pressed into porous materials under pressure, using the Washburn equation to calculate the corresponding pore size based on the applied pressure.MICROTRAC MRB(formerly known as Thermo Scientific SPA), as an advanced solution provider in the fields of particle characterization and gas adsorption, has expanded its extensive product portfolio to provide solutions for mercury intrusion porosimetry measurementBELPOREThe series of devices.BELPOREThe series mercury intrusion porosimeter accurately and quickly detects all accessible pores within the range of 1 millimeter to 3.6 nanometers, balancing and controlling pressures from vacuum to 414 MPa.

BELPORESeries: Accurately measuring pore size distribution

The BELPOORE mercury intrusion porosimeter from MICROTAC MRB provides reliable and reproducible pore size measurements: from a pore size of 1 millimeter to a pore size of 3.6 nanometers at 414 megapascals (Pascal). Pascal "is not only a unit of pressure, but also represents the balance control and optimization of pressure accumulation through the so-called" Pressurization by Automatic Speed up and Continuous Adjustment Logic "(abbreviated as P.A.S.C.A.L.). This automatic control is regulated by a real pore system, allowing for shorter measurement times and detecting all pores within the indicator range while ensuring balance. Each analysis can detect up to 20000 measurement points. Due to the fact that only three types of dilators can meet all measurement tasks and do not require gas or liquid nitrogen, operating costs can be kept at a very low level.
In addition,BELPORE LPThe low-pressure mercury intrusion meter is easy to use and the measurement range can be extended to1mmAperture.BELPORE LPVertical degassing and mercury filling allow for the adjustment of degassing pressure, enabling measurementWet samplesIt is possible to do so without changing the moisture content of the material. Through this method, even if it is dampconcreteSamples and porous green materials containing solvents can also be measured without any changes.MICROTAC MRBThe mercury intrusion porosimeter can be used for different aperture ranges:
- BELPORE LP (1,000 - 3.25 µm)
- BELPORE MP (15 - 0.0065 µm)
- BELPORE HP (15 - 0.0036 µm)
BELPORESeries: Expansion Gauge and Accessories

The professional expansion gauge provides easy and safe operation through the screw cap and built-in opening aid.
POREINSPECTPowerful and intuitive evaluation software
The PorInspect software for the BELPOORE series instruments of MICROTAC MRB provides multiple functions. This software monitors and controls up to 4 measuring instruments, and is completely independent of a PC through a LAN LAN, allowing individuals to control all instrument parameters in real-time.
PoreInspectThe data processing of the software not only considers precise blank value correction, but also allows for checking and correcting possible sample compressibility, ensuring the most reliable results. A wide range of evaluation options can be selected for different pore models and represented in the form of graphs and histograms. The calculation can be freely selected according to the application, including fractal dimension calculation and calculation of curvature and permeability. Overlay, statistical evaluation, creation of method catalogs, and data export are further features. The stored raw data can be accessed at any time.
