1. Overview
Mastersizer 3000E is an economical entry-level granularity analysis system that can be upgraded as needed. It can provide two different levels of performance:
Mastersizer 3000E Basic Type
·Particle size range: 0.1 to 1000 µ m
·Manual dispersing device only
·Basic software, including only update packages and vulnerability patches
·The option to upgrade to the Mastersizer 3000E expansion at any time
Mastersizer 3000E Extended Type
·Support automatic dispersion device for wet samples
·All advanced software features provided by Mastersizer 3000, including update packs, vulnerability patch packs, and upgrade packs
2. Working principle
The Mastersizer 3000E uses laser diffraction technology to measure particle size. When the laser beam passes through a dispersed particle sample, particle size measurement is completed by measuring the intensity of scattered light. Then, the data is used to analyze and calculate the granularity that forms the scattering spectrum.
A typical system consists of three main components:
·optical table-The dispersed sample passes through the measurement area of the optical platform, where the laser beam is irradiated onto the particles. Afterwards, a series of detectors accurately measure the scattered light intensity generated by the sample particles over a wide angle range.
·Sample dispersion device (attachment).The sample dispersion is controlled by a series of dry wet dispersion devices. Ensure that particles are transported to the measurement area of the optical platform in the correct concentration and appropriate stable dispersion state.
·Instrument software:The Mastersizer 3000E software controls the system during the measurement process and analyzes scattering data to calculate particle size distribution.
